Australian artist Mike Welsh creates high quality sandstone and timber bowls. These sell privately and through galleries to interior decorators and other buyers with an eye for quality. Each piece is individually hand crafted by Mike. as an artist, Mike happily undertakes commissions of any scale. Mike's workshop is situated on lush acreage under the protective mantle of two giant mango trees. His home is a hundred year old queenslander overlooking the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. His formative years were spent in South Africa and after travelling extensively overseas made Australia home. A background in stone masonry and carpentry progressed to fine joinery resulting in these bowls of simplistic elegance. Mike personally selects the stone for its inspirational depth of colour, and draws on his extensive collection of exotic timbers for his decorative bowl rims.
